Wessel Dippenaar (Campus Manager):
Wessel qualified with a degree in B.A. (HMS) from the University of the Free State in 1997. While still studying he started working in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer in 1995. He worked in various fitness clubs as a trainer over the next 8 years & coached track & field athletics until the end of 2006. Wessel started working for the eta in 1998 as a part time lecturer & marketing consultant in Johannesburg. In 2002, he became the Campus Manager for Durban & holds this current position to date. He has a passion for the industry & loves to be involved in sport as much as he can. Another passion of his is education & the challenges that the fitness, coaching & sport management industry brings.

Nita Dippenaar
(Regional Operations Co-ordinator):
Nita joined the eta in 1998 as an Administrator at the eta branch in Johannesburg. Prior to joining the eta Nita worked as a Marketing Co-ordinator for a Pharmaceutical Company & P/T time in the fitness industry as a fitness instructor from 1996 – 1998, while obtaining her Fitness & Nutrition Certificate from Intec. She also qualified with a Personal Training Diploma through the eta in 2001, she then worked as a Personal Trainer at the Vodaworld V/A from 2001 – 2003. She moved to Durban in 2002 & became the Regional Operations Manager for the eta Durban region, a position she holds to date. She loves the fitness industry & enjoys helping the students we get every year. She is also a qualified assessor. |

Janice Paddey
(Regional Academic Manager):
With 13 years experience in the Defence Force, Janice travelled & played sports on a National & provincial level including Hockey, Soccer & softball. After leaving the Defence Force she spent time coaching hockey at Edgewood College & then proceeded to complete a Diploma in Personal Training at eta in 1999. After qualifying she worked as a Fitness Manager for 5 years at Health & Racquet, now Virgin Active, before joining eta in 2003 as a facilitator. Other qualifications included a Lifestyle Consultant Diploma, Business Management Certificate, Coach Learners & an Assessors’ Qualification. In 2006 Janice was promoted to Academic Manager overseeing all facilitators on & off campus & has recently completed her Moderation Certificate.

Pride Khuboni (Regional Administrator):
After qualifying with a Bachelor of Social Science Degree in 1998, Pride furthered her studies in computer literacy. Her first position was with Inanda Childcare & Community Development Projects, where she fulfilled an intricate administrative function. From there Pride obtained experience in various industries & positions before joining the eta team in January 2007. Here she fulfills a fundamental part of our team assisting with administration & operational functions from assisting existing & prospective students with payments, information or queries & manning our reception area.

Lize Spies (Marketing & Sales Co-ordinator):
With her National Diploma in Marketing Management, Lize worked at a major tertiary institution from sales to administration & then as the schools marketer over a period of 6 years. Lize then extended her experience in sales & marketing over the next 2 years in the private sector before joining the eta Durban team. She is responsible for the marketing & sales aspects of the region, focusing on relationship building with schools (Primary & High Schools), fitness & sport clubs. She will also be responsible for growing the eta brand in our region, assisting in running events as well as managing our newsletter & website updates

Carl Webster (Sports Management Facilitator):
Carl started studying in 1998 & completed his B.A. in Sports Science Degree in 2000. He then worked as a coach at various primary schools over a period of 2 years. In 2002 he decided to further his studies in a University Post Graduate Certificate in Education & is currently studying towards his B.A. Honors in Recreation. From 2003 Carl worked at Avon Primary as an educator in Physical Education & Computer Studies after which he joined the Department of Sport & Recreation in 2005 working the KZN South Coast in developing sport. Carl joined eta in January 2007. We are also proud to say that he will be competing in the All African Games in Algeria this year, in Karate & we are sure he is going to do very well.

Pam Boardman
(Learning Program Facilitator):
In 2002 Pam qualified with a B. Sc. (Hon.) in Biokinetics at the University of Stellenbosch. She completed her one - year internship with the Sharks Medical Centre & then moved into practicing as a Biokineticist at the Sharks & Ballito Medical Centres for a year. With an opportunity to expand her experience, Pam then relocated to the U.K. to work as a Cardiac Technician, conducting & evaluating ECG & Stress Testing results. On her return she decided to join the eta team as a facilitator in January 2007.

Burger v/d Merwe
(Skills Programme Facilitator):
After qualifying with his B.A. (Hon.) in Biokinetics at the University of Pretoria, Burger completed his internship at the Sharks Academy, Kingspark Biokinetic Services & the Sharks Medical Centre. He then joined the eta in October 2006. Currently he manages & facilitates a skills programme learnership for the development of sport coaches.

Jason Stout
(Learning Programme Facilitator):
Qualified with a B.Sc. (Hon.) in Biokinetics & currently completing his masters’ degree, Jason has worked in all areas including Personal Training, Fitness Manager & as a Doping Control Officer for SAIDS. He joined eta in 2004 as Learning Programme Facilitator, currently managing the F/T National Diploma in Coaching Science (2nd & 3rd year students) & our P/T National Certificate in Fitness students. Jason also runs his own Biokinetics practice from the eta Durban campus premises.

Jeremy Downing
(Fitness Centre Co-ordinator):
One of our very own students, Jeremy completed his Sports Science Diploma with eta in 2004 working for eta on a part time basis. He also completed his Learner Assessor qualification in 2006 and more recently the XLR8 Bronze Level Coach – Speed, Agility & Strength. As a permanent staff member Jeremy now runs and maintains the eta Fitness Centre, as well as running a High Performance Programme at Pinetown Boys’ High School. At the same time he is in the process of launching a multiskill programme targeted at primary school children to improve their sporting abilities through eta SuperKidz in 2008.
