On the 2 day of Orientation Week we took the students to Adventure Golf. Everyone enjoyed the outing,
but unfortunately no Tiger Woods or Ernie Els was forthcoming after the score cards were handed in. |

In 2007 students were introduced to a new & exciting concept at eta; namely Total Immersion. Total
Immersion means that students coming to study at eta will not only walk away with the theory & practical
knowledge of their chosen qualification but also be fitter, stronger, faster & more flexible than when they
arrived. Therefore all 1st year students were tested by the 2nd year students to monitor their progress through
the year. |

At eta we do not only offer programs at our campus in Pinetown, but also work with The Sharks Rugby
Academy. Students enrolling at The Sharks Academy have the opportunity to study a National Certificate in
Fitness with the eta. This is our 1st year group for 2007. |
Studying at the eta is also about having fun. Our students engage in activities on campus that encourage
teamwork & development of skills on many levels. Therefore it’s not odd to see our students finish off a
lecture day with some exercise or activity. |

During our practical times on the campus students take groups to practice their coaching skills of the sports
that they are interested in. Here are our Coaching students busy with some hockey skills & fitness training. |

Our Sport Management students have done some excellent work this year as part of their learning time at
the eta. Here are some photos of a basketball tournament that was organised by our Sport Management
Certificate students. We have had some wonderful feedback from this event & wish to thank all the students
involved in organising a great event. |

The Spar Ladies 10km Challenge was recently held in Durban & some of our eta students & staff
participated. They had to disguise themselves as not give away their identity on the day!

Virgin Active Experience – Gateway:
We recently took our Fitness Certificate class to the Gateway Virgin Active to experience a few of the Group Training Programmes on offer in the clubs. The students had a great time & learned a lot from the Virgin Active staff. Some of the classes done was the
Pure Pump, Bosu, V – Fit & V – Core classes. We at eta Durban appreciate the time & effort from the Virgin Active staff to make this outing a success. Our thanks go to Carmen (Regional Group Training Manager), Gareth (Regional Fitness Trainer) & Dirkie (Regional Fitness Manager)
