special projects

This is a division that deals with the following business opportunities:
Employee health workshops
Linking the health of employees to company performance and delivering training workshops to ensure this. This is then sustained by conducting regular employee health and fitness testing thereafter and providing the employer with the results.

Learnerships

Assisting sport and fitness businesses and organisations secure and deliver successful learnership projects for the continued training of their staff. Funding is secured from the Sport and Tourism SETA. These learnerships are offered annually.

Skills programmes
The design and delivery of specific short courses for sport and fitness federations and companies around South Africa. This is particularly effective where students need upskilling but do not have the time to complete full qualifications. The duration of these programmes can vary between 1 day and 2 weeks and offer a flexible alternative.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
RPL involves the assessment of candidates’ evidence that they develop from their experience in the industry of sport and fitness. These candidates may lack a formal qualification and eta is able to provide assessment of evidence to achieve a qualification in sport management, fitness or coaching science. Applicants submit the required evidence to meet the assessment criteria of these qualifications. RPL is available for those who have workplace experience; this is for candidates who did their learning informally, in the workplace. They may also have exposed themselves to some formal and informal learning; this is factored into the assessment process. Contact the eta Special Projects to learn more about RPL.
