eta stellenbosch

Our 12-year old Stellenbosch campus is located in the heart of this wonderful rural Setting of THE VINEYARD CENTRE in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands on route to the Spier and JC le Roux Estates, approximately 2 km from the town centre.

An initially humble start in 1997 was followed by steady growth for a decade and a sudden exponential growth the past 2 years, forcing us to re-locate to our current campus at the start of 2009.
Spacious air conditioned and well-equiped classrooms , an on-campus gym and Biokinetisist , internet café , and student lounge with DSTV , is complemented with a Coffee Shop , ample free parking and access to wonderful walking and mountainbike trails. All of this is within walking or cycling distance of the main shopping centres , the Medi Clinic and the railway station.

More than 80% of our students are from the rural areas of the Northern Cape , Eastern Cape , Namibia , the Boland and Overberg , and we are proud of the high moral values our students are exposed to.  A strong alliance have been formed over the years with the University of Stellenbosch, Boland College , the schools , sport clubs and the local community. This offer our students wonderful excellent opportunities to practically apply the skills they learn. Quarterly Career Days and Workshadow opportunities , and an annual Sports Convention (June holidays) are presented on campus to prospective students , but please contact our office to arrange a visit in addition to these events.

eta First Annual Charity Golf Day 21 May 2010
The eta first Annual Charity Golf Day would be held at the Kuils River Golf Course 21 May 2010. All proceeds would go towards the Hard Rain Children’s Trust. We are challenging various corporates to sponsor this event as well as to field teams. Various prizes including best overall team and best performing corporate partner will be awarded. The golf day will be organised and managed by theeta Stellenbosch students.
We would like your support. If you would like to get involved, participate as a sponsor or team or
could sponsor some of the prizes we would greatly appreciate it.
The Hard Rain Children’s Trust is a not for profit organisation that focus on all the children within the greater Stellenbosch area. They help street children to re-integrate into society, hold holiday
programmes to keep children in safe environments, build youth leadership and focus on getting the youth physically active through various sport orientated projects. eta Stellenbosch is
involved with many of these projects providing students with practical learning experience and the opportunity to help develop and build our community. For further information on Hard Rain Children’s Trust: Henko van Rensburg (info@besstel.co.za)

Keep Them Safe (KTS) 11 June – 11 July 2010
This Holiday Programme aims to provide safe environments for the youth of greater Stellenbosch during the June/July holiday and Soccer World Cup event. Within 12 communities eta Stellenbosch will provide support, coaching and other sport related services. 12 Different community sport based teams will be established. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all involved to create not only a safe, fun filled and nurturing environment during the holidays but also to establish a sustainable legacy after the Soccer World Cup event. Due to the length of the holiday and the various safety concerns for the youth in Stellenbosch relating to the World Cup eta has committed itself to provide volunteer based services for this programme.
Each eta student will form part of coaching and fitness teams that will create general sport teams in each community. All the services they provide will directly relate to their current studies and will count towards their 200 experiential hours as well as part of their Assessments. We expect each student to be available for 2 weeks out of the 4 weeks.
As general note we would divide students into teams and allocate the period they would be involved. Please note that they would be required to either stay on longer or return earlier depending on the period they would be involved.
